New Firm in Belgium Combines Big 4 Background with Small Firm Approach

April 16, 2008 (TORONTO) – JHI welcomes Belgium firm A & F Services, specialising in financial and forensic audit, accountancy and advisory services, as a new member of the association’s European Region.

The two-partner firm works with a broad range of clients, including those in maritime, pharmaceutical, production and services, hospitals, social and non-profit. It undertakes special reports and audits, valuations, financial due diligence work, investigations for claim purposes, expert witness work and consolidation, as well as IFRS and fraud investigation. The success of its recent contracts, where A & F Services has been competing for work against the likes of Ernst & Young and KPMG, demonstrates its strength in winning clients.

A & F Services was formed in 2007. The firm’s audit arm, AF Chartered Accountants, was formed in 2005.

“We aim to add value by offering a highly personalized service, and our partners bring their extensive knowledge and experience to client relationships,” commented Partner Geert Van Hemelryck. “Clients benefit from our Big 4 background, but with a small firm approach.”

In addition to the two partners, the firm is made up of a specialist team of seven professionals working in accountancy, advisory and VAT, and has a preferred partnership with i-Force CVBA (www.i-force.be) for its work in forensic audit. The firm’s multilingual staff members hold memberships in the major associations, such as the Institute of Chartered Public Accountants (IBR), the Institute of Accountants and Fiscal Advisors (IAB) and the Institute of Forensic Auditors (RFA).

The future looks bright for this firm, which is building a new office in Dendermonde to accommodate its growing team.
