McCrory & McDowell CIO Recognized by Pittsburgh Technology Council

March 3, 2008 (TORONTO) – The team members at McCrory & McDowell LLC, the JHI member firm in Pittsburgh, are making technology work for them thanks to their IT Administrator, Laurie Pemrick, a finalist for the Pittsburgh Technology Council 2008 CIO of the Year Award.

“Working in an atypical fashion, Laurie Pemrick reaches out to co-workers to help them feel more comfortable around technology, providing solutions and building consensus,” reads the Council’s TEQ Magazine report. “She has succeeded in cutting costs while creating an efficient and IT-centered environment.”

Laurie joined McCrory & McDowell June 1, 2006. Her areas of expertise are end-user and computer interfacing and project management and infrastructure planning.

Laurie builds consensus by offering her coworkers a “more efficient way” via technology, and by accepting her co-worker’s suggestions. Her key role in facilitating discussions and project plans with the firm’s technology committee was another factor in her recognition. This CIO leads Lunch and Learn sessions, as well as one-on-one training sessions, for her firm. Laurie has the ability to gain a strong sense of an individual’s technical proficiency and is very comfortable teaching in the role of matching the user needs to the level of technical detail and support she provides.
