JHI AND ITS RELATIONSHIP WITH NASBA

JHI is committed to quality professional services and monitors the education of its members in accordance with the rules of licensing jurisdictions around the world. The primary supervisory organization in the Americas Region is the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA). NASBA, based in the US in Tennessee, consists of members from 54 jusidictions (50 states, the District of Columbia, the US Virgin Islands and Guam). NASBA is invested with the power to create regulations for the 54 jurisdictions and offers providers of CPE to become licensed in the US.

JHI has met the complex and rigorous rules of NASBA through application, which is renewed each year in September. A designated member of the JHI Region of the America Executive goes through the renewal process each year to illustrate the ability of JHI to provide the highest level of education available. JHI members who take courses under the NASBA sponsorship must still offer the credits to their State Boards of Accountancy, since the rules in each jurisdication differ. For example, one state may grant credits for half hour sessions , while others do not. Some states permit credits for "soft" or nontechnical courses, while others grant credits only for technical subjects. The NASBA sponsorship verifies the quality and acceptability of each course, then sends it on to the member for verification in their state of licensure.

NASBA has always been a “Work in Progress”. This means that rules are tweaked and changed regularly and each licensed sponsor must keep up to date with the current NASBA regulations in order to maintain their provider membership. We at JHI are proud to be accepted under NASBA requirements. Additionally, we are listed on the NASBA website as an approved vendor.
