Dan has a wealth of experience gathered over more than 30 years with public accounting firms and in corporate and senior management in resources, mining, manufacturing, business process re-engineering, process and system reviews, feasibility studies, procurement and implementation of gold loans. He is a Justice of the Peace, Registered Tax Agent and a Registered Non-Profit Organization Auditor and Cooperative Company Auditor.
Dan has gained valuable audit and accounting exposure to the statutory reporting requirements under the Corporations Law, the Australian Accounting Standards relating to commercial business operations in the private sector and Finance Administration and Audit Act requirements relating to the public sector. This has enabled him to develop excellent analytical, administrative and communication skills.
Dan is responsible for Continuing Professional Education and Training at Marf & Associates. He is also a person who can design or approve a structured training program under the Training Guarantee Act.
Dan is a member of the National Institute of Accountants in Australia (NIAA) – Western Australia branch Continuing Professional Education (CPE) Committee. Dan is a Fellow of Chartered Secretaries Australia (FCIS) as well as the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators UK, a Fellow Professional National Accountant in Australia (FPNA) and a member of the National Tax & Accountants Association (NTAA). He is also Treasurer and Chairperson of the Public Practice Discussion Group and Chairperson of the Australian Tax Office (A.T.O.) Small Practice Tax Liaison Group.
A Master’s of Business Administration (MBA) graduate from Canbourne University in the UK, Dan has his Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, majoring in Accounting and Auditing, and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Corporate Management, Chartered Company Secretary.
