Recent Conferences Build Business Worldwide Recent JHI conferences were excellent examples of our members’ strong interest in deepening their understanding of industry trends and best practices while developing mutually beneficial working relationships and access to business opportunities. Managing Partners Summit and Themed “Growing Your Firm in Challenging Times,” the Managing Partners Summit explored best concepts, strategies, tactics and implementation approaches to help attendees lead their firm out of what this year’s presenter Gale Crosley, CPA at Crosley + Company, called “a passive client maintenance model,” to one that drives growth. The event began with a discussion of industry challenges as a result of the current economic recession and included a variety of workshops and breakout sessions to help attendees discuss best practices and brainstorm ideas with peers. Designed for IT partners and technologists, the Information Technology Conference enabled attendees to chart the do’s and don’ts of technology implementation, collect and compare IT policies and procedures and examine new and enhanced software. The conference program featured sessions on timely industry topics such as data protection, Microsoft Office 2010, protecting client data, virtualisation technologies and IT policies. Now in its 12th year, the IT Conference enables attendees to connect with their peers, share ideas and discuss current IT issues, while offering effective ways to maximise their investment in technology. The IT Conference and Managing Partners Summit overlapped for a day to probe IT issues of interest to managing partners such as special sessions on Disaster Recovery Both events provided unique and myriad opportunities to share and gain insights among managing partner and IT professional peers who share the same daily challenges as well as tap into a fresh spectrum of information by interacting with members of geographically diverse firms. The new global design and repositioned website copy not only advance JHI’s goal of merging its operations and offerings into a unified global brand, but will also compliment the design and messaging of future communications. In addition to adding information about how JHI benefits its members’ international clients, emphasis is placed on fostering accessibility and interaction between members. The site will be updated frequently to keep members and visitors updated on key trends, issues and breaking industry news.
